Tonight I wanted to give you all a Happy to end your day on, or for some of you - to start your day with tomorrow. I was thinking of things from my childhood that always made me smile or giggle and reading Shel Silverstein poems still makes me smile and giggle. Then I started thinking about all the lessons I learned by reading his poems and I thought, what a great idea for a Happy! So, for tonight's Happy - you are going to be getting 13 life lessons found within the poems of the great Shel Silverstein:
“Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”
“Do a loony-goony dance ‘cross the kitchen floor. Put something silly in the world that ain’t been there before.”
“There is a voice inside of you, that whispers all day long, I feel this is right for me, I know that this is wrong.”
“There are no happy endings. Endings are the saddest part. So just give me a happy middle and a very happy start.”
“If you’re a bird, be an early bird. But if you’re a worm, sleep late.”
“If there is a book you want to read but isn`t written yet, write it.”
“If the track is tough and the hill is rough, *thinking* you can just ain’t enough!”
“And all the colors I am inside have not been invented yet.”
“Talked my head off
Worked my tail off
Cried my eyes out
Walked my feet off
Sang my heart out
So you see,
There’s really not much left of me.”
“Just ’cause somethin’ ain’t been done Don’t mean it can’t be did.”
“But all the magic I have known I’ve had to make myself.”
“Many leaves one tree.”
“How much good inside a day? Depends how good you live ‘em.”
Now, I want you to take these lessons and live by them every day - not just when you read this post. But, I know it's late and time for bed so goodnight and sweet dreams to all of you!! Until tomorrow, keep smiling and spreading that love!!
Peace, Love and Happiness!
Karen :)
